DESCRIPTION:The Carroll County Farmer’s Market is Celebrating its 55th Year. \n \nOn Saturday\, June 20th \, the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be celebrating its 55th season. \nThis week customers will be able to purchase locally grown produce featuring lettuce\, kale\, kohlrabi\, radishes\, spinach\, beets\, asparagus\, rhubarb\, Swiss chard\, spring onions\, broccoli\, cabbage\, and cauliflower.  There will also be farm raised beef\, pork\, lamb\, wine\, cheese\, honey\, and fresh eggs. \nOur food stands provide home baked goods\, including cakes\, pies\, scones\, cookies\, breads\, rolls and biscotti. You will also find jams and jellies\, nuts\, fresh eggs and more. We also have a stand selling heart healthy lean emu meat and other emu products. \nOur plant vendors will have hanging baskets\, container and patio pots\, herbs\, annuals\, perennials and fresh cut flowers. The Master Gardeners will also have a stand every week to help you with your gardening problems and answer your questions. \nEach week will offer an assortment of handmade crafts. SUMMARY:Quilt Day at the Farmer's Market - June 27th
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday June 27th the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be holding its 13th annual Quilt Day.  The Farmer’s Market’s own vendors will be displaying antique and new quilts at their booth throughout the market.  Take a walk down memory lane and learn the history and story behind each quilt.  Every quilt displayed has its own unique story.  Barbara Myers from Everybody’s Quilt Guild in Westminster will be raffling off a quilt plus demonstrating hand and machine quilting along with piecing quilts.  The Master Gardeners will also have a stand every week to help you with your gardening problems and answer your questions. \nLocally grown produce this week consists of: asparagus\, lettuce\, rhubarb\, spinach\, strawberry’s\, sweet cherries\, raspberries\, blueberries\, beets\, yellow squash\, zucchini\, onions\, summer turnips\, kale\, Swiss chard\, and collards.  There will also be farm raised beef\, pork\, lamb\,  cheese\, and fresh eggs. \nOur food stands provide home baked goods\, including cakes\, pies\, scones\, cookies\, breads\, rolls and biscotti. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, June 27\, 2026\, the Free State Daylily Society (FSDS) will be holding its Annual Bloom Show at the Carrol County Agricultural Center (Blizzard Building).  This will be the first year for the FSDS bloom show at this location.  \nFSDS members will be displaying daylily blooms from their garden.  Bloom categories include mini\, small\, large\, extra-large\, double\, spider/unusual form\, arrangement\, and seedling.  Members will also be available to answer questions about the blooms and growing daylilies in our area.  \nThis is a great opportunity for the general public to see some beautiful daylilies that you will not see in the local garden centers and to make a wish list for possible future purchases at our August 2 sale at Mclean’s Nursery in Parkville\, MD and August 3 at Benson Hammond House in Linthicum Heights\, MD.  Of course\, we will be back at the Carroll County Ag Center in May 2026!  \n  \nThere will be some plants for sale at this event.  Cash only.  \nSome of last years’ winners.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 22nd\, The Carroll County Farmer’s Market is celebrating Heirloom Tomatoes. Hours are 8am-1pm. \nTo be considered an heirloom tomato\, the plants must be open pollinated\, which means by the wind or insects\, and has existed for at least 50 years.  The Master Gardeners will provide information on how to grow heirloom tomatoes and have heirloom seeds for customers to take home and grow next year.  In addition to the fresh tomato tasting\, there will be a variety of dishes using the heirloom tomatoes available for sampling\, as well as recipe cards. \nMany varieties of tomatoes will be available to sample and compare: Green Tomatoes\, Black Tomatoes\, \nPink Tomatoes\, Red Tomatoes\, Yellow Tomatoes\, Striped Tomatoes. Lots of food dishes are on hand to taste as well as recipes cards to take home. This is a really great celebration of the many uses of tomatoes. The event is a must see for any tomato lover. Be sure to come early\, however\, because the samples ran out early last year. \nRegular market vendors will provide tomatoes for purchase\, including many heirlooms. DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 5th.  the Carroll County Farmer’s Market is celebrating Labor Day Weekend.  This is the last date of the Summer Season at the Carroll County Farmers’ Market.   Let us help you with all of your preparations and decorations.  This will be your last chance to stock up on local produce including apples\, potatoes\, peppers\, tomatoes\, cantaloupe\, watermelon\, corn\, pumpkins and more.  Our plant vendors will have mums of every color for sale.  Also\, don’t forget our Celebrating Fall show on October 3rd  for all of your fall decorating needs; hours for the fall show will be 8:00am to 1:00pm. \nOur food stands provide home baked goods\, including cakes\, pies\, scones\, cookies\, breads\, rolls and biscotti. You will also find jams and jellies\, honey\, nuts\, and more. There will also be farm fresh eggs\, and farm raised beef\, pork\, and lamb. \nThe Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer your questions about “putting your garden to bed” plus much more. \nEach week will offer an assortment of handmade crafts. Items available include seasonal decorations\, fabric crafts\, jewelry\, photography\, painted wood crafts and more. \nThe cafeteria is open during market hours for breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and egg sandwiches are great for breakfast and don’t miss out on a slice of homemade pie or cake. \nThe Carroll County Farmers Market is held in Westminster\, Maryland at the Agricultural Center\, located on Smith Avenue\, adjacent to the Farm Museum. \nHours for the Summer Market are from 8am-1pm. \nThe Summer Season of Farm Market runs each Saturday through September 5th. \nThere is no admission and parking is free. \nWe are handicapped accessible. \nBusses are welcome. \nFollow the signs to “Ag Center”. \nFor more info call Anita at 410-848-7748 or check out our website at \nwww.carrollcountyfarmersmarket.com
